LEGO’s are one of our favorite toys in our house. You may thing that your 9 year old is too old, but they are not too old for LEGO’s or other building sets. My kids use their LEGO’s EVERY single day.

The older my little boy gets the more he likes to create fun masterpieces with his LEGO sets. One of our favorite ways to store LEGOs is in drawers sorted by color. This is an easy way to keep LEGOs off the floor and put away.

Fun All Boy Play

All boy play is one of my favorite types of toys to buy. My boy and his friends love to have NERF gun wars. They get all dressed up in camouflage and go outside for some fun.

The best thing about NERF guns is the bullets are soft and don’t usually hurt when they are shot. Some of the larger guns are a little stronger but for the most part they are very soft.

Best Electronics

I feel like boys are super into electronics around this age. I would say that one of our favorite devices we got our kids is the iPad. I love the safety parameters that can be put on them to restrict kids from having access to harmful content. I also love to download educational games for the kids to work on over the summer while they are out of school.

My little guy also loves his headphones that we purchased to go along with their iPad. This is a lifesaver for me in the car or when we are flying.

Cool Gadgets

My boy has been interested in how things work and why they work. He loves to take things apart and figure out how to put it back together.

Outdoor Play Ideas

I love anything to do with being outside. Anything that gets my kids outside is a good toy in my book. One of my little guys favorite toys is his bike. He rides it every single day. We also love to ride bikes as a family. It’s a good way to bring the whole family together.

At this age spending money on a “nicer” bike is worth the money because the bike can grow with them and will be theirs for a long time.
