Mystery Detective Adventure Case 3: Mine accident – You have come to a small mining town for a new investigation. There has been an accident in one of the mines, but the principal Margaret has doubts about it. The official version is this. A pile of rocks fell on one of the miners due to a bucket malfunction. But, as the case suggests, it could have been murder. When the body was found, there was a gun lying next to it. That’s odd. There must have been a reason why he grabbed it. It’s up to you to find out what really happened in the mine.

Talk to the mine manager

The manager made an appeal and called me. I need to find out all the details of the case from her. Margaret said she believes the incident was a homicide and not an accident. I believe she approached me because the mine management would not be happy with this statement.

Talk to other miners

Henry did not work alone. His colleagues may know not only details about his life and death but also a person who might wish him harm. There is a legend in Henry’s brigade about the ghost of their dead colleague, who returned to take the rest with him. Some are skeptical about this, others believe in a ghost and they are afraid of paranormal phenomena in the mine. Both options have the right to life.

Find Jacob

Investigate the Jacob’s death

I found Jacob hanged in his home. There must be evidence in his house that will confirm or refute suicide. Jacob may have been the first to die. I found him hanged at home, but it was clearly a fake suicide. And there was again that charcoal palm print. Jacob was the main suspect in the death of the miner five years ago. However, he was acquitted. Could it be the revenge of the deceased.

Find foreman Michael

All surviving crew members may be in danger. It’s better to warn them about this. The foreman is also no longer alive. Judging by the letter I found in Jacob’s house, Michael didn’t really believe in the ghost. According to him, there should be evidence at the lighthouse that there is a living person behind all this. However, someone broke the mechanism of the bridge that he used. The bridge overturned when Michael was rushing in the carriage towards the lighthouse and Michael fell down. Get to the lighthouse

Michael believed that he would find at the lighthouse confirmation that the ghost did not exist. I’ll try to find some answers there. I didn’t find anything interesting at the lighthouse, except for stencils for signaling. There was a house for the keeper near the lighthouse. It turned out that he was the engineer with whom I talked in the mines when I first arrived. The girl in the bar mentioned that the miner who died five years ago was his grandson. I found a photo of them together in the house. He has one more living grandson. But he is still very young – I don’t think he could pull off a grandiose plan to take revenge on his brother. And the engineer seems to be quite out of his mind. I still don’t have the answers.

Inspect the Michael’s house

I found the key to the house of the deceased foreman in his pocket. I found a lot of evidence in Jacob’s house. I think inspection of the Michael’s house will be no less informative. It seems the whole trip to the lighthouse was a trap. I was wrong about the foreman picking up the trail. He was simply lured there. Talk to the engineer

The manager must know where to find the engineer. I’m sure he has information that will help the investigation. The engineer and his grandson were outraged by my suggestion of a ghost. I think this also speaks in favor of their innocence. Otherwise, why would they deny it? Why defend the good name of the deceased? They said Robert was at the bar on the pier. They promised to shelter Steve. If I don’t hesitate, I’ll have time to save both of them.

I can only hope that after our conversation the boy ran straight to Steve and he was still alive. The ghost puts his plans into action too quickly.

First, I need to make sure Steve is okay. He should be in the engineer’s house. Then I will deal with the paranormal. I underestimated the family of the deceased. The engineer’s mind is still quite sharp and the brother of the deceased has enough rage. Their thirst for revenge gave birth to a plan that I missed due to my past experiences. Everything was on the surface! But I allowed the illusion they’ve created to lead me down the wrong trail.
