Hi all
Can anyone recommend the best thing to treat fungal nail please?
I only have a tiny bit on the end of my little toe so not fully full blown and want to try and treat as quick as I can.
Do any of the paints work? there are so many types not sure which is best.
Would rather not get the tablets as I know they can have quite a few side effects. Also when thought I had it a while ago the nurse at the drs refused to give them to me and told me 'it's not as bad as some I see, just be thankful its not your fingernails and live with it'!!! :mad:
Also, I guess its caused as I pretty much permanently have a little bit of athletes food between my two small toes. tried the powders and also the lamsil once but whilst it has improved it does not completely go away. any suggestions for this?
Really should have sorted it before sandal weather as want to paint my toes!

Scholl products are really good for treating athletes foot. I used the spray twice daily for 2 weeks and it cleared it right up. They also have a product for the treatment of fungal nails so you should give that a try as well, it's relatively cheap!

You could try tea tree oil - helps quite a lot of people with fungal nail problems.

Vicks!
Rub a dollop on your nail every time you bath/shower.
Works wonders.:mad: :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T

I've found the paint-on stuff to be fairly ineffective at treating fungal toenails.
Can fully understand why one may be reluctant to take or prescribe the oral pharmaceuticals, but these are far more effective.

Another vote for Vicks.
My Dad had a fungal nail infection and tried three different remedies from the pharmacy. None worked. Then he read about Vicks on the internet. He put a blob on every day and worked it in by scrubbing the nail with an old toothbrush. It took a few weeks to clear up completely. I think it has some antiseptic properties.
Edited to remove apostrophes.

well my wee tub of Mo'sons own brand (which worked for me) has Camphor, Turps, Menthol, Eucalyptus.
I'm not a scientist, so you work it out.
