This page is part of IGN's Genshin Impact Wiki guide and details everything you need to know aboutAmber, which includes a full character overview, how to obtain Amber, combat details, talents, and skill upgrade priorities, a recommended character build, and much more.
The ever-energetic and bubbly Outrider, Amber is such a blast of sunshine right after what happened at the start of the game. She's going to be your first guide in the world of Teyvat and will teach you stuff that's important for exploration.
Although a blast to play early in the game thanks to her sniper-like Aimed Shot, Amber struggles to make her mark in even early F2P team compositions. She can find a niche with enough Constellation unlocks, but she isn't worth leveling up before that happens.

Amber is the first non-edible character you come across on your adventure around Teyvat. Though she's the only Outrider left within the ranks of Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius, she's happy to put in the work, keeping the Good Hunter's signboard filled with important notices, missing persons appeals, and Wanted posters as she runs around the land looking for suspicious individuals.
Amber is a free character and you'll be able to use her without rolling from the banners. However, if you're interested in getting her constellations, you're going to have to roll on the standard banner.
Combat Details
When it comes to battle, Amber struggles to make her mark. She's a great way to get to grips with hitting weak spots on enemies with her Bow, and can make good use of distant explosive barrels and, with enough duplicates from Wishes or potentially upcoming events, can turn her puppet into a readily-available bait bomb.
But her lackluster damage and barely noticeable abilities make her not only the first character to join your team, but the first to get sidelined too. She's necessary to figure out a few puzzles, but that's about the extend of her usefulness on your team.
Amber's Talents and Skill Priorities
Amber's talents are focused on dealing damage from afar, just like a bow user should be. Her vision is also pyro, meaning her attacks inflict the pyro status to opponents and has the possibility for some nasty elemental reactions.

Amber's Constellations
Amber, even though a 4-star character, only exists in one banner which is the permanent banner. Not just that, she doesn't get rate-ups at all. So getting her constellations are kind of difficult. However, if you're still planning on getting her constellations, the ones to look out for are C2, C4, and C6.
Constellation Name | In-Game Description |
---|---|
One Arrow to Rule Them All (C1) | Fires 2 arrows per Aimed Shot. The second arrow deals 20% of the first arrow's DMG |
Bunny Triggered (C2) | Hitting Baron Bunny's foot with a fully-charged Aimed Shot manually detonates it. If detonated this way, it deals 200% additional DMG |
It Burns! (C3) | Increases the Level of Fiery Rain by 3. |
It's Not Just Any Doll... (C4) | Decreases Explosive Puppet's CD by 20% and adds 1 additional charge to the ability. |
It's Baron Bunny (C5) | Increases the Level of Explosive Puppet by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
Wildfire (C6) | Fiery Rain increases the entire party's Movement SPD by 15% and Base ATK by 15% for 10s |
Amber, just as mentioned above, isn't that great of a unit. Unless she's reworked or her skills get massive buffs, she's not going to get up there in the Tier List. However, if you're still dedicated to building Amber, here are some of the recommended weapons and artifacts for her.
Best Weapons for Amber
Skyward Harp and The Stringless lie on top of the mountain for her. Both of them doing a fantastic job for the type of Amber you want to build. If you're leaning more on the Physical DPS side, Skyward Harp would be your pick. If you're more into the sub dps part, The Stringless fits the bill.
Weapon Name | In-Game Description |
---|---|
Skyward Harp | Increases CRIT DMG by20%. Hits have a60% chance to inflict a smallAoEattack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every4s. |
The Stringless | Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by24%. |

Amber's artifacts will depend on the build you pick for her. A full physical build Amber would wear 2 piece Bloodstained Chivalry, and 2 piece Pale Flame. While a sub dps Amber would go for a full set Noblesse Oblige or 2 piece Noblesse Oblige and 2 piece Crimson Witch of Flames.
For main stats, it's best to go with ATK Sands, Pyro DMG%/Physical DMG% Goblet, Crit Rate/Crit Damage Circlet. Depending on your crit rate.
