With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time to start making summer plans for outdoor fun. Get creative with these 25 DIY Outdoor Activities for Kids!
It’s almost that time of year! Summer break is just around the corner and like every year I’m trying to find fun things for my kids to do. Sure, we go to the library and the local park, but I need something that’ll keep them busy for a good 30 minutes to an hour at home.
So I’m getting creative with these fun 25 DIY Outdoor Activities for Kids! We can put together games like ring toss or cornhole. Build a kiddie cash wash to ride through on bikes. Even make giant bubbles and walk on stilts.
These are seriously the best outdoor activities for kids and sure to win your major parent points!
This game involves groups of students working together to come up with lists of 10 things that fit into different categories. You can use it in a lot of different ways, but this particular version is meant to get Family Groups to start working together (and to later reflect on how they did).
Outdoor games mainly refer to those games which we play outside in the open air. Since it is played outside, several factors like weather and time must be taken into consideration. It is not possible to play outdoor games when it is raining heavily or when it gets dark as children may fall sick or injure themselves.
Get-togethers: Whether it's a family party or a playdate, the most important element of getting Baby socialized is for them to be around other people. At family functions, there are often people of a range of different ages, which is a great way for Baby to see how adults and children behave.
Hiking: Exploring scenic trails, forests, or mountains is a great way to connect with nature and get some exercise. Picnic: Pack a picnic basket with your favorite snacks and enjoy a meal in a park or by a lake. Cycling: Biking is an excellent way to cover more ground and enjoy the outdoors.
Outdoor environments give kids the space they need to walk, play and swing. They can play catch. They can crawl under bushes, climb trees and ride bikes. When kids have the chance to engage in physical activity, they can strengthen both their bodies and their sense of self-confidence.
Other traditional examples of outdoor recreational activities include hiking, camping, mountaineering, cycling, dog walking, canoeing, caving, kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, running, sailing, skiing, sky diving and surfing.
Fun PE games for kids like soccer, kickball, or basketball can be played with just a ball at a nearby park. Games like “H-O-R-S-E" or "around the world” can be played with just two or more players on a basketball court. Net sports like tennis, volleyball, and badminton are great PE games for kids.
Outdoor play is good for children's physical health, development and wellbeing. It's fun too! Encourage children to play outside several times a day. Outdoor play ideas include tummy time, ball play, nature walks and bike rides. You and your child can play outside even when it's wet or cold.
Organize children into two groups. Each team attempts to pull a long rope towards them from each end. This game teaches the players much about team spirit and effort because all team members draw the rope together on each end.
